Lodge based photo safari's are designed to take up to six individuals per game drive vehicle and a maximum of two vehicles per group, to allow for more intimate time with our subjects and to share helpful information between us to ensure our best results. These sessions allow for group sharing of knowledge and techniques, and where I can advise and give technical details based upon experience whenever needed. After check in at the lodge we gather together to discuss our three to four day strategy and define each persons wishes in terms of subject matter, interests and specific needs and challenges - this ensures everybody has a chance to learn over and above building a collection of amazing wildlife pictures. Each day has two game drives (morning & afternoon) on an open game drive vehicle. Drinks are served half-way through each drive, which allows for some different angles of photography off the vehicle. Once back at the lodge we sit as a group and choose a select few images from everyone, to share amongst the group and discuss. I will point out a few of the finer details relating to composition, metering, exposure and focusing. We will use programs such as Aperture, Lightroom and photoshop to re-work these select images, showing you how to get maximum impact from your photos in a number of different ways. Availability and Options: I have four tailor made photographic safari's on offer at the moment; which offer maximum flexibility and focus. Ad hoc programs can also be requested and arranged by myself or my prefered safari lodges and tour operators. Some safari's have stipulated dates, but any date or number of days can be requested - obviously availability will be the criteria of acceptance. The three Madikwe workshops are all based at different lodges, giving varied levels of service, attention to detail and offering different photographic opportunities. The Central Kalahari Photographic Safari is a nomadic experience designed to deliver extreme results and test your spirit to the maximum - this journey is not for everybody...!
