An archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, off East Africa. It's home to numerous beaches, coral reefs and nature reserves, as well as rare animals such as giant Aldabra tortoises. Mahé, a hub for visiting the other islands, is home to capital Victoria. It also has the mountain rainforests of Morne Seychellois National Park and beaches, including Beau Vallon and Anse Takamaka.

The place where the vibrantly warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean present a striking contrast as they soothingly lap the pristine white sandy beaches. Set against a backdrop of totally unspoilt beauty, the beaches of the Seychelles have been described as being the most beautiful in the world. Sometimes referred to as the Paradise Islands, the Seychelles is high on “places to visit” lists for many travellers from across the globe.

The Seychelles islands are blessed with a year-long warm, tropical climate, making any time great for a visit, however different times of year may be better suited to one's particular interests.

In general, north-westerly winds blow from October to March and average from 8 to 12 knots; and the brisker south-easterly trade winds blow from May to September, averaging between 10 to 20 knots, bringing the cooler and windier conditions ideal for sailing.

April/May usually produce fairly warm and wind-free conditions, as well as October, thus making conditions for swimming, snorkelling and especially diving, superb, with water temperature sometimes reaching 29ºC and visibility is often 30 metres plus.
