Understanding Wildlife

Getting the Shot

Have you ever wished you could stay a little longer in a sighting as the light was becoming just right, or hoped you could get a different angle on the species as the backdrop would be so much better? This is common in the photographic safari world, and we know about it all too well. While some camps have extremely experienced guides who understand light, composition and the drive of a photographer, they have to ensure the satisfaction of all guests on the vehicle, and sometimes this doesn’t bode well for those with a mind full of fantastic wildlife images they aspire to obtain.

You wouldn’t be alone in your frustrations!

Join up with like-minded individuals on a photo workshop where we set out explicitly to achieve great photographic results — no racing around between species, no coffee break during the best light hours (unless it’s a mobile cup on the safari vehicle) and no positioning with grass and twigs in front of key focal points.

On these safaris, we choose only camps with experienced guides, and a photographic guide to give direction where need be. We’ll also share years of photography and wildlife experience with individuals as their needs dictate.

Back at the camp, we plan for review sessions and some group editing to ensure we’re all getting the most from our fresh imagery.

We all go home winners.
